A "charismatic" mum who was taken to hospital with an eye infection sadly died of coronavirus with her son holding her hand.
Margaret Magee, from Anfield, Liverpool, was first admitted to the Royal Liverpool Hospital on March 16 with an eye infection.
But just three days later by March 19, the mum-of-three tested positive for Covid-19. The 79-year-old's condition deteriorated rapidly as a result of complications caused by the virus including pneumonia.
Sadly she died on April 3 while holding her son Michael's hand, the Liverpool Echo reports. Margaret, who was born in Huyton but spent most of her adult life living in Anfield, was one of ten children.
