Christmas gift, a new survey has found. Four in 10 (40%) people in Scotland prefer to give cash gifts and that same percentage would prefer to give money in the form of coins and banknotes, the YouGov research carried out in December for ATM network Link discovered.
Younger people were particularly likely to prefer to receive cash, with 45 per cent of 16 to 24-year-olds saying this would be their choice, alongside 43 per cent of 25 to 39-year-olds.
Across the study, just under three in 10 (29%) would prefer to receive Christmas money in the form of a bank transfer, while 14 per cent would want a gift card and 4 per cent would opt for a traditional cheque.
