New flexible season tickets have been rolled out on Northern trains as part of a drive to adapt to a post-pandemic world. The 'flexi' tickets are for passengers returning to the railway following lockdown and ahead of predicted changes to people's daily routines, giving them 10 unlimited travel days for the price of nine, to be used at any time during a six-month period. It's also part of Transport for the North's (TfN) bigger drive to deliver London-style contactless payment systems across public transport in the region. The new season tickets are loaded on to smartcards and are available on Northern and LNER services between Leeds and Harrogate stations only. But TfN are calling on the Government to give the go ahead to plans to roll them out.
