New subsidy scheme like 'kicking us when we're down' - shop owner

There has been widespread criticism among small business owners to changes from the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme to the new Employment Wage Subsidy scheme (EWSS), with one small business owner describing it as "kicking us when we're down".

Business owners say many are facing the prospect of having to work without pay come September as 'proprietary directors' are excluded from the scheme.
