It was a New Year’s Day unlike any other for this Florida couple.Mathew Kowalewski had just asked Ashley Bray to marry him and during their exciting moment, they lost the engagement ring.The couple was sitting on a retention wall at Mead Gardens overlooking the water when the proposal took place.
Next thing the couple knew they heard a “plop” as the ring fell into the “deep, murky water.”“He barely got a chance to propose before the ring fell into the water,” Bray said. “We were both looking at each other, and then we heard the ‘plop’ of the ring falling into the water below.
It must have gotten jostled around in his pant pocket and became loose enough that simply opening the box was enough for it to fall out.”The couple was in shock.
