Nicola Sturgeon will today decide whether to impose a "two-week circuit breaker lockdown" in Scotland to tackle the coronavirus crisis.
The First Minister will meet with her Cabinet later to discuss plans which could see pubs and restaurants closed for a fixed time and restrictions brought in on how far Scots can travel.
It comes after Scotland reported a further 697 new coronavirus cases on Monday. No new deaths were recorded, but the number of hospital cases rose by eight to 218 - including 22 in intensive care.
Despite having brought in a national ban on Scots going into other people's homes some two weeks ago, the First Minister said it was possible more measures may be required in the "near future".
