A further 5,018 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon warning of a potential incoming 'tsunami of infections.'Latest data shows there are 573 Covid patients in Scottish hospitals which is down five from yesterday.
There are currently 40 people with the disease being treated in ICUs. Meanwhile, there are 51 Covid patients in Ayrshire hospitals while fewer than five people are being treated for the illness in the region's intensive care units.
