Nicola Sturgeon has thanked Scots for their efforts in a heartfelt speech on the coronavirus lockdown. The First Minister says the virus is “in retreat”, with the number of patients in intensive care with Covid-19 falling by nearly two thirds.And she says the progress is down to Scot’s diligence in staying at home in order to protect lives, while pledging not to risk "unnecessary deaths" by easing restrictions too soon.
Addressing the nation at 5.55pm tonight, the SNP leader doubled-down on yesterday’s stance that Scotland will not be adopting the rule changes announced on Sunday by Boris Johnson.
The Prime Minister says those south of the border can exercise as much as they like and meet one person outside their household in parks while
