Spain is set to relax its tough lockdown rules by letting “non-essential” workers returning to their jobs – despite recording nearly 600 new coronavirus deaths today.
Panicking officials let construction and manufacturing businesses reopen this morning after the Spanish economy took a nosedive.
But pubs, shops, bars, and public spaces will stay closed until at least April 26. The easing of restrictions came despite Spains’ death toll skyrocketing to 17,489 on Monday – up 517 from Sunday’s total of 16,972.
