Olly Murs has apologised after his prank – involving his penis and a Pringles tube – backfired. The 35-year-old cut out the bottom of a Pringles tube and placed his penis inside, offering his girlfriend a crisp while filming the prank.

Olly's girlfriend, Amelia Tank, recoiled in surprise in the clip, realising there were zero crisps inside the tube. After uploading the prank to social media, The Voice coach was met with backlash by some, prompting an apology.

Taking to Twitter, he said: "So I've had a few days to think about this, and wanted to apologise to anyone who has been offended by my social videos." Explaining the logic behind the stunt, Olly confessed he had hoped to make his followers smile during the coronavirus pandemic.
