InYourArea and charity Give Food have launched a new initiative to help the selfless volunteers giving up their time to support people in these trying times.

It is the latest in the series of projects focused on getting clear, accurate and useful information into communities during the coronavirus pandemic.

A new widget, below, shows exactly which items thousands of local food banks are short of. In co-operation with Give Food, which delivers to food banks nationwide, the gadget allows users to input their postcode and see precisely what provisions
