PHILADELPHIA - Authorities have charged an inmate who they say helped two fellow inmates escape a Philadelphia prison last weekend, sparking a dayslong manhunt across the city.
Jose Flores-Huerta, a 35-year-old who is currently incarcerated at Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center, was charged Thursday with Escape and Criminal Conspiracy.
Flores-Huerta is incarcerated for a deadly group beating at Pat's King of Steaks in Sept. 2021 that claimed the life of 28-year-old Isidro Cortez.
It's alleged that Flores-Huerta helped Nasir Grant, 24, and Ameen Hust, 18, free themselves from the prison last Sunday night through a hole in a perimeter fence.
