He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has slammed Boris Johnson after a viral snap of packed Bournemouth beach showed Brits ignoring social distancing guidelines.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 55, seemed furious with the Prime Minister after seeing Britain's beaches filled with sun worshippers who seemingly forgot about the pandemic.

Taking to Twitter, the outspoken telly host fumed: "'I trust the British people to use their common sense’ - Boris Johnson as he took us out of lockdown.

This is Bournemouth Beach," referring to the packed beach snap. Earlier this week, the PM announced massive changes to the coronavirus lockdown in England - sparking outrage among many as thousands flocked to beaches across the country.
