Narendra Damodardas Modi (born 17 September 1950) is an Indian politician serving as the 14th and current Prime Minister of India since 2014. He was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is the Member of Parliament for Varanasi. Modi is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist volunteer organisation. He is the first prime minister outside of the Indian National Congress to win two consecutive terms with a full majority and the second to complete five years in office after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to share a message with people on Friday as central and state authorities are working on a war footing to contain the spread of Coronavirus and to give relief to those who lost their livelihood.
The Prime Minister’s third message to people since 19 March on the Coronavirus pandemic, other than his Sunday address to the nation Man Ki Baat on 29 March, is expected to give an overview of how India which houses about a fifth of world population is taking every step possible to provide humanitarian and welfare measures while taking decisive steps to fight back the pandemic. “At 9 AM tomorrow morning, I’ll share a small video message with my fellow Indians," Modi said in his twitter handle.
