LOS ANGELES - A woman who allegedly stole a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department cruiser led deputies on a chase Monday from Compton to Orange County, where she was eventually boxed in by other vehicles and taken into custody.The pursuit of a suspect driving a stolen police cruiser led authorities on a high-speed pursuit from South Los Angeles to Orange County.Reports of the chase came in around 1:30 p.m. in the area of West Rancho Dominguez, an incorporated area in LA County.

CAPE MAY COUNTY, N.J. - A man in Cape May made another concerning discovery amid a rash of marine mammal deaths along the East Coast this year.The dead dolphin was found washed ashore on Baltimore Avenue Beach near Beach Drive over the weekend.Police moved dolphin from the water's edge to the top of the beach ramp so the Marine Mammal Stranding Center could transport it, according to the beach goer who snapped the photo.It is still unclear what led to the dolphin stranding, but this latest discovery comes almost two weeks after eight dolphins died in a 'mass stranding' on a New Jersey beach.

AMES, Iowa - A well-preserved sabertooth cat skull found in southwest Iowa may have been one of the last of the species to walk the planet as glaciers receded and temperatures rose, according to researchers.Radiocarbon dating indicates the male cat died at the end of the Ice Age between 13,605 and 13,460 years ago before getting buried in the East Nishnabotna River, according to Matthew Hil, an associate professor of archaeology at Iowa State and expert on animal bones. Hill analyzed the specimen along with David Easterla, professor emeritus of biology at Northwest Missouri State University.
