HIGHLANDS, N.J. - A 15-year-old boy died and several other victims were taken to hospitals after six people were pulled from the ocean at an unguarded New Jersey beach over the weekend, authorities said.Officials said it happened at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Sandy Hook in the Gateway National Recreation Area.

CHESTER, Pa. - Police in Chester County are investigating a shooting, officials say. Authorities say the shooting took place near the parking lot of Subaru Park, the home stadium of the Philadelphia Union, around 11:20 p.m. on Sunday. According to the Chester Police Chief, officers responded to the area of Front and Norris Streets for a report of a woman being shot in the hand. Responding officers arrived and saw a large crowd on scene, police say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESWhile treating the injured woman, officers received calls about more shooting victims showing up to a local hospital, officials say. Five juveniles and two adults were injured as a result of the shooting, according to police. One juvenile is in critical condition, while the rest are expected to physically recover, officials say.

PHILADELPHIA - A shooting claimed the life of another teen as Memorial Day gun violence continued overnight in Philadelphia.Police say they found the 16-year-old boy on the 2400 block of Clarion street just after midnight Monday.He was shot one time in the head, and pronounced dead on scene by medics.

PHILADELPHIA - Three 15-year-old boys became the victims of another act of violence that also claimed the life of a man over the Memorial Day weekend.The quadruple shooting erupted on the 4500 block of Mulberry Street just before 9:30 p.m Sunday.All three 15-year-olds were shot several times, and transported to a local hospital.

PHILADELPHIA - A traffic stop quickly became a homicide investigation after a deadly discovery was made in Philadelphia's Kingessing section Sunday night.Police had pulled over a speeding car on 57th and Springfield streets when they found an unresponsive man in the back seat.The 20-year-old was suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder.As officers transferred the victim to their patrol car, police say the driver and passenger jumped back into the car and sped off, leaving the victim behind.MORE HEADLINES:Police then transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died just minutes later.

PHILADELPHIA - A North Philadelphia community is grappling with the loss of a recently-opened grocery store after a stolen car crashed into the building, police say. According to officials, the stolen vehicle crashed into the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market on N American Street early Sunday morning. Crews remove a stolen vehicle from the inside of a Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in North Philadelphia.  Philadelphia police say the driver of the stolen vehicle did get injured in the crash, but no additional information was released. FOX 29 was at the supermarket's grand opening in North Philadelphia in July 2022. The neighborhood was considered a food desert prior to the opening of the store, which provided residents with quality groceries nearby. The front entrance to the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in North Philadelphia is blocked off after a stolen vehicle crashed into the building.  MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe next closest grocery store is more than a mile away and is known for high prices, according to residents. The store owner says they are unsure how long it will be closed but hope to reopen as soon as possible.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J. - New Jersey State Police are asking for the public's help to identify and locate a man they say tried to abduct a 7-year-old boy in broad daylight Sunday.The boy was in a Wawa bathroom on Highway 47 in Cumberland County around noon when police say the suspect offered him candy to leave with him.After the boy said no, the man grabbed him by the arm and tried to abduct him, according to authorities. PHILADELPHIA - A 19-year-old woman ended up in the hospital after police say her boyfriend's firearm went off inside an apartment Sunday afternoon.The shooting happened on the 1400 block of 15th Street, which is located just blocks from Temple University campus in North Philadelphia. It is unclear if the apartment is student, or off-campus, housing.Police say the woman was shot in the lower body when her 22-year-old boyfriend was cleaning his gun, and it went off.MORE HEADLINES:She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition as her boyfriend was held for questioning, according to authorities.

SMYRNA DUNES PARK, Fla. - A Florida woman was arrested and charged after authorities said she nearly drove into families at a beach in Smyrna Dunes Park Saturday, narrowly missing parents and children. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office said Sarah Ramsammy, 26, of Orlando has been charged with DUI and reckless driving. Helicopter and bodycam footage released by authorities showed a blue vehicle parked in tire-high waterRamsammy was then seen n a green t-shirt standing beside a passenger who was also in the vehicle. PHILADELPHIA - A walking man was left for dead when police say a driver hit him, then fled the scene in a wanted vehicle.The deadly hit-and-run happened on the 3700 block of Broad Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.The man, said to be in his 30s or 40s, was pronounced dead a short time later.

DELAWARE - The stepfather of a 3-year-old girl whose burned remains were found on a softball field several years ago has pleaded guilty to child endangerment charges, according to court documents.Brandon Haas, 41, pleaded guilty in March to one felony count and three misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child. None of the offenses carries mandatory prison time, although the felony count carries a maximum sentence of five years behind bars.

BRISTOL, Pa. - A Pennsylvania community held a vigil Friday for a local infant who prosecutors say died after being beaten and shaken several times by his own father."The community is heartbroken over this, I mean, it’s a small town, everybody knows everybody," Stephane Scancella said. Authorities say on Wednesday night officers from the Bristol Borough Police Department responded to home on 100 block of Radcliffe Street for reports of a 4-month-old in cardiac arrest. Officers administered CPR and rushed the baby to Lower Bucks Hospital where he was pronounced dead just after midnight. Tyler Sullivan (Bucks County District Attorney's Office)  Tyler Sullivan, 30, was charged with homicide and two counts of aggravated assault in the case. Following an examination of the infant, a doctor found that the child had suffered several injuries, including bruises and abrasions throughout the body. Investigators concluded that Sullivan had violently shaken the baby on at least two occasions Wednesday, and at least six additional times over the past six weeks. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES"We all have bene heartbroken about this mom losing her son, especially the way she did," Scancella said. Neighbors day the baby's 22-year-old mother and Sullivan were engaged to be married. "We have to do something for this mother and her family," Scancella said. "It’s heart-wrenching."

PHILADELPHIA - The heartbroken mother of a baby-faced Philadelphia teen who was gunned down while riding home on a SEPTA bus earlier this week remembers her son as a "special boy" who was loved by many.Randy Mills, 15, was shot and killed aboard a Route 23 SEPTA bus late Wednesday night near the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue, according to police. The shooting, which was captured on a bus surveillance cameras, shows a person in wearing a mask and dark hooded sweatshirt confront Mills just before he's shot in the chest.The shooter fled the bus before police arrived. A 17-year-old boy who was reportedly stabbed outside a Philadelphia high school on Friday was driven to a nearby hospital by police. PHILADELPHIA - A teenage boy is recovering after police say he was stabbed outside a high school in West Philadelphia on Friday. Investigators say the 17-year-old was stabbed one time in the backside outside of Parkway West High School just after 2:30 p.m. The teen was taken by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was placed in stable condition, according to police. Authorities have not said what caused the stabbing.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public's help to identify a shooter and a person of interest in connection with a fatal shooting on a SEPTA bus in Philadelphia. The shooting took place on Wednesday night inside a bus on the 5200 block of Germantown Avenue, police say. According to investigators, a confrontation between the suspect and a young man broke out on the bus before shots were fired. UPPER MERION, Pa. - Two Philadelphia men are wanted for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise from high-end retail stores at the King of Prussia Mall over the last several months. Anthony Abner,35, and Brian Hughes, 32, are connected to at least seven thefts and strong-armed robberies, five of which happened between February and May. In one incident, authorities say the men stole over 40 pairs of Octane jeans and merchandise totaling more than $15k. They're accused of hitting big-name store located inside the mall like Sunglass Hut, GAP. During the stretch of robberies, police said the men have become physically aggressive. In one case, police say an unidentified man working alongside Hughes forcibly pushed a 77-year-old Optical World employee against a wall before grabbing 10 pairs of glasses. That theft, according to police, totaled more that $18k. "In this day and age, the world is going through things, things we’ve never gone through, and so I think security is the number one priority everywhere," Amber Diaz of Port Richmond said.Court documents show the pair is also wanted for at least one theft at a Sunglass Hut in Cherry Hill. Upper Merion Police say there are several active warrants our for Abner and Hughes.

MORRISVILLE - Authorities in Bucks County say there is no threat to the public after explosive devices were found inside a local home Thursday morning. The Bucks County District Attorney's Office said the troubling discovery was during an investigation at a home in Morrisville. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAuthorities have not provided an address of the home that was under investigation, or what type of explosive devices were recovered. "We can assure the public that there is no immediate threat to the community," a press release from the DA's Office read.

WILMINGTON, De. - Prosecutors in Delaware announced they dismantled two large-scale drug rings that plagued to local communities. United States Attorney David Weiss and federal agents from the FBI and DEA met with the media on Thursday to discuss the operations that peddled narcotics, including fentanyl and methamphetamine in communities in Dover and Rosemont. "The drugs sold and the toxic mixture created are becoming more dangerous, the tactics deployed by the defendants are more sophisticated," Weiss said. Investigators showed pictures of the large-scale, illegal drug operation being run in Dover in which undercover agents made multiple buys of fentanyl and methamphetamine over the last five months. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThey argue the arrests of the Fountain brothers, Dwayne, and Martin, and two other suspects, lead to a record-setting haul of 7.5 kilograms of fentanyl.

(FBI / File) PHILADELPHIA - Federal authorities have raised their reward offer for a man accused in the kidnapping and murder of a Philadelphia girl in the summer of 2000. Alexis Flores, a handyman who came to the United States from Honduras, was allegedly involved in the July 2000 kidnapping of 5-year-old Iriana DeJesus. Investigators say DeJesus was found strangled to death near an apartment building in August. Flores is believed to go by several aliases, including Mario Flores, Mario Roberto Flores, Alex Contreras and Alesis Contreras.

WEST ROCKHILL TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Seven children were removed from their home in Bucks County after officers found them to be living in "unsanitary" and "unsafe" conditions, police say. According to the Pennridge Regional Police Department, on April 23, 2023, officers responded to the 600 block of Roseann Lane in West Rockhill Township for a report of three children entering an abandoned trailer. Officers returned the children to their home and found inadequate living conditions, including a pad lock on the refrigerator. Authorities say the children's parents said the lock was put there because the family had little money and they wanted to prevent the children from eating all the food. Responding officers filed a report with Bucks County Children and Youth before returning with a representative from the department later in the day. While investigating, four more children were found hidden in a back bedroom in the trailer home, police say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAccording to officials, the living conditions of the home were found to be unsafe by both responding officers and the investigator from Bucks County Children and Youth. The seven children were removed from the trailer home and placed in protective custody, authorities say. Interviews with the children revealed they lacked basic knowledge, including their birthdays.

PHILADELPHIA - Whether you call it a ski mask or a shiesty, it cannot be worn on SEPTA buses and trains or in stations, SEPTA officials announced Thursday. The announcement comes after the fatal shooting of a young man on a SEPTA bus in Germantown on Wednesday evening. Authorities say the victim was fatally shot in the chest by a suspect in a hoodie who was wearing a ski mask. "Those face masks are prohibited on SEPTA property," SEPTA Transit Police Chief Charles Lawson said in a press conference. "If you come on SEPTA property wearing your shiesty, you will be engaged by police.

CHICORA, Pa. - A Pennsylvania nurse is facing charges connected to the death of two patients and the hospitalization of a third, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office. Authorities say the nurse, identified as 40-year-old Heather Pressdee of Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, gave lethal doses of unnecessary medication to patients, resulting in their deaths. According to officials, the alleged incidents took place at Quality Life Services, a skilled nursing facility in Chicora, where Presdee was a registered nurse. Presdee is facing charges in the deaths of a 55-year-old man and an 83-year-old in addition to the hospitalization of a 73-year-old man, authorities say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESInvestigators say the victims were under Pressdee's care when they received overdoses of insulin that caused medical emergencies and the deaths of two patients. The two men died on December 4, 2022, and December 25, 2022, per officials. Authorities say two of the three men were not diabetic. Pressdee was taken into custody on Wednesday and was arraigned on charges before being sent to the Butler County Prison, officials say. She has been charged with two counts of homicide, a count of attempted murder, a count of aggravated assault, three counts of neglect of a care-dependent person and three counts of reckless endangerment, the AG's Office says.
