Police and fire crews descend on road after serious crash between car and motorbike

One person has been injured following reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike in Denton. Police and fire crews were called to Town Lane at around 5.30pm on Saturday evening (January 6), and the road was cordoned off for a short period of time.

Eye witnesses described seeing 'lots of police' descend on the scene shortly before 6pm, and said the incident involved a BMW vehicle and motorbike.

One eyewitness said he saw a 'motorcyclist' taken away from the scene in an ambulance. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said one crew had been deployed to the scene and worked to make the area safe.

A spokesperson for the service said: "At just before 5.30pm today (Saturday 6 January), fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Town Lane, Denton. "One fire engine from Hyde quickly attended the incident which involved two vehicles. "The crew arrived quickly at the scene and worked to make the vehicles and the area safe.
