Police have shut down a "rave" at a park after about 70 people flouted lockdown rules to gather for the party. West Mercia Police said a DJ had set up for the gathering at Granville Country Park in Telford, Shropshire, on Saturday.

The party appeared to have been organised in advance, with a sound system set up in the park, despite gatherings of more than two people are still not allowed under coronavirus restrictions.

Police dispersed the group from the park at about 8.15pm yesterday, a police spokesman told Birmingham Live. A member of the group reportedly told police they were "sick of self-isolation".
