Politicians and unions have accused Ovo Energy of "betrayal" after the firm backtracked on a commitment to protect jobs following a takeover of SSE's retail operation.
The utilities giant announced plans today to cut 2600 roles across its UK operation, with more than 1000 at risk in Scotland.
Jobs will be lost at its contact centre in Perth and offices in Glasgow and Selkirk will be closed.
