Premier League club captains have challenged the notion of all players donating 30 per cent of their weekly wages to the National Health Service after all 20 came together for a video call this afternoon.
The discussions came after politicians criticised footballers and their PFA union for not taking a wage cut while non-playing employees at some clubs were being put on furlough.
Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Norwich City and Liverpool have all furloughed members of their non-playing staff, while the likes of Brighton, Manchester United and Crystal Palace have committed to paying all staff their full wages until the end of the season.
