RTÉ enjoys viewership boost with Player streams increasing a whopping 60 per cent

As we’re all staying indoors during lockdown, it looks like we’re heading back to our analogue television stations and getting value for money out of our licence fee.

RTÉ has received a massive boost in viewing figures according to new stats circulated to staff on Friday. According to the figures, RTÉ television has seen a 15 per cent in share growth across the day which has, unsurprisingly, largely been driven by RTÉ News as we all keep up with the developments in the country’s response to the pandemic.

The top programme on Irish television so far this year was Taoiseach Leo Varadkar’s address on 17th March which had over 1.5 million viewers.
