Warrington chief executive Karl Fitzpatrick says the coronavirus lockdown has brought Super League and the RFL back together - but insists the top flight still needs its own organisation.
Super League clubs forced a separation from the sport’s governing body in 2018 to take control of their commercial affairs in a messy split labelled a “civil war”.
Leeds boss Gary Hetherington was the one dissenting top flight voice before the formation of a new commercially-focused body led by executive chairman Robert Elstone.
The need for that has now been questioned - including by some who helped force the split - after the RFL secured a £16million emergency government loan last week to ensure the sport’s short-term survival.
