Saturday Night Live finally returned with a new episode on Saturday, April 11, following an extended hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic and resulting production shutdowns.
NBC announced on Thursday that the long-lived sketch comedy series would return with new content this weekend, including a new "Weekend Update" segment and other material featuring SNL cast members, and that it would be produced remotely amid social distancing efforts.
Indeed, SNL did return to the small screen on Saturday, with pre-recorded segments filmed by the cast at home, and offered up a few surprise celebrity cameos, including bringing back Tom Hanks as host!
