PHILADELPHIA - The Delaware Valley will enjoy a pleasant weather day Friday before conditions take a turn Saturday as rain and snow are expected to fall throughout the day.
Friday’s high temperatures are expected to reach about 60 degrees with mostly sunny skies. The script will flip in a big way on Saturday as the outskirts of a large winter storm stretching from the Midwest to New England will impact the Delaware Valley.
As the storm approaches temperatures will plunge back into the 30s and 40s Saturday morning. Philadelphia and the surrounding areas will begin to see rain in the morning before another drop in temperatures changes precipitation to snow for most.The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Carbon and Monroe counties through 7 p.m.
Saturday. Winter Storm Watches have also been issed for parts of Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton counties. A cold front is expected to move in during the afternoon, pulling temperatures down below freezing.
