The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Central government in a plea seeking directions for free distribution of masks and action against black-marketing of sanitizers.
A bench, comprising justices L. Nageswara Rao and S. Abdul Nazeer, also sought response from the Centre on the plea filed by a non-governmental organization -- Justice for Right Foundation, founded by Satyam Singh Rajput.
The case was heard through video-conferencing and will now be taken up early next week. The petitioner sought directions from the Apex court to direct the government to ensure adequate distribution of surgical/N95 masks, sanitizers and liquid soaps at fair prices to stop the spread of coronavirus.
