Primary schools could open on June 1 as part of Boris Johnson's lockdown great escape. The PM is set to unveil the measure in a government "roadmap" out of quarantine in a public address next Sunday.
A report in the Sunday Telegraph claims primary teachers will be put on three week' notice to repopen, before years 10 and 12 return for exams later on.
Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick said on Saturday: “Home learning is not easy, particularly when one or both parents are trying to work from home as well.” Last week Johnson promised to deliver a "comprehensive plan" next week on how the lockdown may be eased after declaring the UK is "past the peak" of the coronavirus outbreak.
