Scottish football rarely disappoints in providing plenty to talk about but even by its own incendiary standards yesterday was explosive.
The SPFL responded to Rangers' 200 page dossier of whistleblower evidence with their own five page missive attempting to explain six of the key points raised.
The letter was signed by eight of the league's board with Rangers' Stewart Robertson the only club representative failing to put his signature to the document.
It claimed that chief executive Neil Doncaster was subject to a "threat" by Rangers chairman Douglas Park - an allegation furiously denied by vice-chairman John Bennett late last night.
