Sinn Fein's Pearse Doherty has said EU Commissioner Phil Hogan should be removed from his position and he called on the Taoiseach and the Tánaiste to make clear whether they still have confidence in him.
Speaking on RTÉ's Six One News, Deputy Doherty said Micheál Martin and Leo Varadkar should make contact with the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Lyon and inform her that the information Commissioner Hogan provided to her was misleading.
He said the HSE is very clear that the Commissioner was not exempt from the restrictions that he claimed to be. This evening the Department of Health said the HSE guidelines state than anyone travelling from a non-green-list country must restrict their movements for 14 days.
