The survival of some childcare and early years providers is in jeopardy after the Government began to recoup overpayments of state supports last week with only five days notice, according to the small firms group ISME.
In a letter to the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Roderic O'Gorman on behalf of the Federation of Early Childhood Providers, ISME Chief Executive Neil McDonnell described the situation facing some providers as "unacceptable".
In the early stages of the pandemic, the Government set up the Temporary Covid-19 Wage Subsidy Childcare Scheme (TWSCS) to give supports to the sector.
