Spike in coronavirus cases in Scotland as 60 positive overnight but no recorded deaths for 23 days

coronavirus figures in Scotland continues to rise after a further 60 cases were identified overnight. The latest Scottish Government figures revealed there have now been no deaths related to the killer virus for the last 23 days but the total number of confirmed cases is now 18, 950.

261 people are currently being treated in hospital with three in intensive care.The total number of Covid-19 deaths in Scotland remains at 2,491.Overall, 39 of the new cases emerged in the NHS Grampian area as Nicola Sturgeon said she was "furious" at Aberdeen FC players who broke lockdown rules.

The First Minister said it was "unacceptable" that eight players had visited a bar in the city on Saturday night.They are all now self-isolating after two tested.
