Liverpool Hope University, David was born with congenital nystagmus - a condition causing involuntary movement of the eyes - combined with vision loss.

After studying in mainstream education until the age of 18, he enrolled at The Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) - a Hereford residential college which helped him improve his grades and set him on the path to university.David, who was elected as a student governor during his time at RNC, has been adapting to new ways of learning at Hope as studying for his degree has moved online while social distancing measures are in place.He receives one-to-one study sessions with a visual impairment specialist as well as help during lectures from note takers.
