Students in Tameside are making protective face shields for NHS staff and hospice workers in their school's technology department.

Pupils at Hyde Community College have been using a laser cutter to make the protective visors since last Thursday. So far, the equipment has been donated to Tameside Hospital and to a local hospice to help protect staff during the coronavirus crisis.

Caroline Brett, who works in the design and technology department at the school on Old Road, said there has been a 'massive team effort' from pupils and teachers to make the masks.
