couple who spent their 60th wedding anniversary apart because of the Covid-19 outbreak have thanked kind supermarket staff for gifting them a cake.Ken McGinley and his wife Alice married 60 years ago at St Margaret’s Church, in Johnstone, after three years of courtship.Alice, 78, sadly developed dementia and moved into Cochrane Care Home in Elderslie just over a year ago.Ken is a regular visitor, but he is in the high risk category, so isn’t able to leave his home under lockdown guidelines.He’d contacted the Asda Linwood store to see if they could send his wife a cake to mark the event and was told at first they couldn’t help.But, when a manager realised it was for a diamond wedding anniversary, they pulled out all the stops.Christmas
