'Terrified' mum of young doctor treating coronavirus victims buys her daughter PPE

The “terrified” mum of a junior doctor treating coronavirus patients has spent hundreds of pounds on face masks to protect her daughter on the NHS frontline.

The mother told the Mirror she feared for her child as she risks her life daily while caring for Covid-19 sufferers on a dedicated ward.

The mum, who spoke on condition she was not named, blasted the Government over supply problems which have triggered huge shortages of vital personal protective equipment (PPE) for NHS staff.

Revealing why she decided to speak out, she said it was “terrifying” having a child at the heart of the pandemic without sufficient protection.
