Tesco has called for shoppers to head to its supermarkets to buy food amid the coronavirus pandemic as they say a large proportion of food will need to be purchased in-store.
They have raised concerns that demand won't be able to be met as more and more shoppers stay at home, despite increasing its delivery service capacity by more than 20 per cent.
The supermarket giant also revealed that in the first few weeks of the virus in the UK, “significant panic-buying” cleared its supply chain of certain items and therefore increased sales by 30 per cent.
