The Great Manchester Run in May has been postponed until September over coronavirus, organisers have announced. The event covers the annual 10k, one of Europe's largest, the annual half marathon and the junior run events.
The new date is September 6. More than 30,000 took part last year. In an email to all entrants, organisers said: "We are really sorry, but the recent developments of the COVID-19 outbreak means that the Great Manchester Run on Sunday 24 May can no longer take place. "We know this is probably very disappointing news, because it is for us too. "Since 1981 we have been very privileged to deliver events for millions of people, but unfortunately due to the current situation this event can no longer go ahead as planned on the
