At least 331 people have died at Greater Manchester hospitals having contracting coronavirus. The region's death toll has spiked by 52 in the last 24 hours - the biggest day-on-day increase of recorded COVID-19 deaths since the outbreak started.

The figures are published daily by NHS England. Today (Wednesday), further deaths have been announced at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust.
