The latest Public Health England figures show the transmission rate in Salford has now risen to 311 per 100,000 people. Cases have gone up by 97 per cent with 805 people testing positive in the borough over the last week.
The rate in Bolton, which has had the highest rate in Greater Manchester for several weeks, currently stands at 311.3. The rate is down by 12 per cent in the borough, where surge testing and emergency vaccinations continue.
