Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA  (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

Thousands of demonstrators chanted "no justice, no peace" as they gathered in London's Hyde Park to take part in a Black Lives Matter protest.

The event was organised following the shocking killing of George Floyd, who died after white Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was filmed pressing down on his neck with his knee.

The footage has sparked outrage around the world. Many held banners saying "I can't breathe" - the words Mr Floyd repeatedly told the officer shortly before he passed out.

Others said the UK is not innocent and demanded justice in tackling racism. US President Donald Trump has come under fire for threatening to bring in the military to tackle disorder, and today Boris Johnson was pressed on why he had stayed silent -
