Thousands of migrant workers have flocked to a train terminal as they rushed to get on a special cross-state train in desperate bids to flee from the worst coronavirus -hit Indian state.
Video taken by witnesses shows a sea of migrants gathering outside the Bandra Terminal in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. They swarm in the terminal in the hope of getting on the so-called Shramik Train that is bounded for Bihar, an eastern state bordering Nepal.
It's understood that there were about 4,000 to 5,000 people waiting at the station at the time and most of them worked in metal manufacturing and designing shops, gold, silver and other jewellery polishing units.
