Three medics in Russia caught coronavirus after being injected with Vladimir Putin's controversial Sputnik V vaccine. The jab was hailed as a "word-beating" cure by Vladimir Putin when it was registered in August, but faced criticism from the West over worries that it had been rolled out too soon and not tested properly.
The vaccine’s makers have stressed that protection from Covid-19 only comes around six weeks after the first of two injections, according to Russian health officials.
The case in the Altai region of Siberia involved three medics who tested negative the day before they received their first jabs of Sputnik V.
