Tributes to Doctor Who actor Hamish Wilson after he passes away due to coronavirus

Tributes have been paid to a radio producer from Rutherglen who has died in hospital after contracting the coronavirus.Hamish Wilson (77) took ill on Saturday, March 21, and passed away last Thursday, leaving family and friends devastated.Mr Wilson worked with Radio Clyde and the BBC during a lengthy broadcasting career.

He was also an actor who appeared in the likes of Doctor Who, Taggart and Monarch of the Glen.The news came as it was revealed the number of coronavirus cases in South Lanarkshire has now surpassed 200, while 60 people in Scotland have died from the disease.

Kenny Smith, a former Reformer editor, had fond memories of his friend. He said: “I first interviewed Hamish for a Reformer feature and we got on very well.
