A 16-year-old has died from coronavirus as the UK's hospital death toll increases by 342. In the lowest Monday death toll of the year, there were 313 fatalities in England, with five deaths and 928 new cases in Scotland.
Wales recorded 12 deaths and 610 new cases and Northern Ireland, also reported 12 deaths in the past 24 hours. In England, the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals is now 76,080, NHS England said.
Patients were aged between 16 and 108. All except six, aged between 49 and 81, had known underlying health conditions. The Midlands was the worst hit - with 77 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours.
