The government are considering allowing people to meet up small groups of friends and family as part of plans to relax the lockdown it has been reported.
However a former Manchester police chief has said he believes the proposal would be difficult for officers to enforce. And he said officers will be "very nervous" about any changes to the current rules.
The lockdown remains in place with the next official review due in a fortnight's time. But reports today say ministers are considering whether to allow people to get together with their closest friends and family as part of an initial relaxing of social distancing measures.
