The Office for National Statistics has recorded the lowest number of UK coronavirus deaths since April 3rd. According to ONS statistics, there were 3,810 deaths involving coronavirus in England and Wales registered in the week ending May 15.
The figures make it the lowest weekly number recorded in the last six weeks, and the lowest in total since lockdown. It follows yesterday’s daily record lows of 121 in NHS England, Scotland confirmed 9, Wales announced 7 and Northern Ireland recorded 1.
The daily total is down considerably from recent Sunday totals, which tend to be lower on anyway due to a lag in reporting fatalities.
