Up to 10 consecutive days of sunshine and highs matching Malta and Greece are on the cards for the UK - as the deadly coronavirus spread forces Brits to remain at home.
A 500 mile-wide 'Portuguese pulse' of warm air will bring up to 14C highs in parts of the UK, including Scotland, rivaling temperatures expected in the likes of Corfu in Greece this week.
And with some reports suggesting temperatures could reach 21C in the near future, bookmakers have been slashing the odds on spring being the hottest ever.
Weather maps show air blowing from Portugal to Britain while the Met Office has confirmed highs climbing from 8C to 14C - 4C above average for some - by Wednesday across the UK.
