An Arctic blast will sweep the UK today and send temperatures plummeting as snow falls in parts of the locked-down nation. The sunshine and blue skies of recent days – after the coronavirus shutdown was imposed – has temporarily given way to bone-chilling conditions.
A cold blast from the Arctic swept the nation overnight and will hold its grip throughout today with temperatures struggling to climb.
It will “feel like” 0C for most of the UK today, according to Net Weather, under the teeth-chattering winds from the North Sea.
And the Met Office predicts snow could even fall in some parts of England, becoming heaviest in the south-east. Its forecast states: “Western parts dry with sunny spells.
