The Met Office has drowned out Brits hopes of a 25C Easter Bank Holiday heatwave by issuing a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms across parts of the UK.

Heatwave weather prompted Brits to flout Government coronavirus self-isolating lockdown rules and join friends at parks and beaches on Saturday as the mercury hit highs of 25C.

A Bank Holiday weekend record of 25.5 was recorded at St James’s Park in London on Saturday, with the mercury hitting 25.2C in Yeovilton in Somerset.

Parts of the UK will be blessed with more sunshine but it is hoped the public will have a change of hear and stay inside this Easter Sunday to protect the NHS and save lives amid the coronavirus outbreak.
