PHILADELPHIA - A 15-year-old and two other teenagers were injured by gunfire Tuesday afternoon in North Philadelphia, according to police. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the intersection of Diamond and Gratz streets just after 4 p.m. for reports of a shooting. Police found two teens, 15 and 17, suffering from gunshot wounds to the legs and drove the boys to Temple University Hospital where they were placed in stable condition. An 18-year-old, who police say was also shot in the leg, arrived at Temple Hospital in a private vehicle and was also placed in stable condition. No arrests were reported immediately following the triple shooting.

CONCORD TWP, Pa. - Thousands of Delaware County water customers were told to boil their water until further notice after a water main was accidentally ruptured by a construction company Tuesday afternoon. A spokesperson for Veolia Water Company said a contractor that isn't associated with the company accidentally struck a water main on Naamans Creek Road near Route 202. The break initially impacted water service for approximately 2,100 customers, according to the company, but that number was quickly whittled down to just 200. "The process of sampling water, taking it to a lab for testing, could take several days for drinking water to be safe again," a spokesperson said. The rupture caused traffic back-ups and detours on surrounding roadways.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A Nebraska woman pleaded guilty Monday to burning and concealing a fetus after she took medication to end her pregnancy, while prosecutors move forward with a criminal case accusing her mother of illegally helping with the abortion.Prosecutors said Celeste Burgess gave birth to the stillborn fetus about 29 weeks and five days into her pregnancy. She was 17 at the time, but prosecutors charged her as an adult.Burgess, now 18, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of concealing or abandoning a dead body and prosecutors dropped two misdemeanor charges.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are looking to question a 19-year-old man about his role in a rash of shootings and robberies that plagued two Philadelphia neighborhoods over several days.Brian Amerman is a person of interest in three shootings and two robberies that occurred from May 12-21, according to police.One shooting left a man critically shot in the chest and legnear an ATM on Roosevelt Boulevard in Oxford Circle.The other shootings, one involving a 17-year-old victim, occurred a week apart on Amber Street in Kensington.

"I shook my leg as hard as I could to get it off, but it just wouldn't." Maggie credits her 3 millimeter wetsuit for giving her enough protection to keep the suspected shark from inflicting much more serious injuries. "I went over the wave and she went under it, she screamed and I turned around because I thought she was drowning or something, but she got up and she said ‘I think something bit me," said Sarah O’Donnell, a friend who was with Maggie during the attack. Medics were called to the beach and rushed Maggie to Cape May Regional Medical Center for treatment that included six stitches.

BOSTON - Rick Hoyt, who with his father pushing his wheelchair became a fixture at the Boston Marathon and other races for decades, has died. He was 61.Hoyt died of complications with his respiratory system, his family announced on Monday."Rick along with our father, Dick, were icons in the road race and triathlon worlds for over 40 years and inspired millions of people with disabilities to believe in themselves, set goals and accomplish extraordinary things," the Hoyt family said in a statement.Rick Hoyt had cerebral palsy, which left him a quadriplegic, but he and his father became as much a part of the Boston Marathon as sore feet or Heartbreak Hill.

DEPTFORD, N.J. - A man put a police officer in a chokehold before a bystander came to his aid during a struggle at a New Jersey mall, police said.Deptford Township police said officers were sent to the Deptford Mall just after 7:30 p.m. Friday on a report of a disorderly man allegedly harassing patrons.A uniformed officer found the man on the second floor of the mall and asked him to leave multiple times but he refused to do so and "allegedly became confrontational," eventually taking a fighting stance, police said.As the officer tried to arrest him on defiant trespass and disorderly conduct charges, a struggle ensued during which the man was able to put a chokehold on the officer, "effectively cutting off" his blood and oxygen supply, police said.During the struggle, a bystander interceded and helped the officer escape the chokehold and get the man into handcuffs, police said.

PHILADELPHIA - Emergency crews are on the scene of a barricade situation involving two young children in West Philadelphia Sunday evening.Police say a domestic dispute inside a home on the 500 block of Wanamaker Street escalated after a woman was pistol whipped by the male suspect.The woman made it outside, but the man remained inside with two small children, according to authorities.
