The United States has now surpassed China as the country with the most coronavirus cases in the world. As of the time of this posting on Thursday (March 26), the U.S.
has 82,523 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,182 deaths, according to the World Meter website. China currently has 81,285 confirmed cases and 3,287 deaths.
The country hit the 80,000 mark on March 1 and they successfully flattened the curve there. Italy has 80,589 confirmed cases and more deaths than any other country with 8,215 total deaths so far.
The daily increase in cases there peaked on March 21 and has been going down slightly each day since then. Worldwide, there are more than 510,000 confirmed cases and 22,000 people have died.
